Mount Wilson
135km from Sydney

No holiday to the Blue Mountains is complete without a visit to the magical village of Mt Wilson. At certain times of year you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d stumbled into the Garden of Eden.

Windyridge at Mt Wilson

Rich volcanic soils and high rainfall have produced Mt Wilson’s lush native vegetation and allowed the loving development of many superb English-style private gardens and tree-lined avenues.

One of the area’s most beautiful and important attractions is ‘The Cathedral of Ferns’ to be found opposite a large picnic area. Walking tracks through the Cathedral take you under an amazing canopy of ferns, sassafras and coachwoods. An understorey of rainforest-style vines and ferns is covered by some massive eucalypts - one being aptly named as the ‘Giant Tree’.

‘Windyridge’ and ‘Nooroo’ at Mt Wilson are two of Australia’s most beautiful gardens, both of which leave visitors truly relaxed and determined to work harder in their own gardens.
