Gone Fishin’, at the International Regatta Centre Freshwater angling has received a major advance in Sydney with the opening of what’s known as “controlled” angling at Penrith’s International Regatta Centre. The centre holds good stocks of five species, selected to pose a real challenge for amateur fisher men and women. In fact, since 1998, more than 50,000 Australian bass have been stocked in the lake, along with carp, tandanus (or eel-tailed catfish), goldfish and eels. The Regatta Centre is a ‘pay-to-fish’ venue and anglers are asked to bring their own equipment and bait. The Centre also offers a kitchen and bar with picnic and BBQ areas, rowing, canoe hire, dragon boating, cycling and sailing. You’ll find further information by calling 4730 0000. |
